• You will get more preventative services under now, than you did before. Now Medicare will cover preventive services like mammograms ands colonoscopies. These preventive services will not apply towards the Part B deductible. you will also be able to have a free annual wellness visit
  • You will be able to save money on brand named prescription Medicines. (Part D)If you take alot of prescriptions or just take expensive prescriptions, you might end up in the “Donut Hole” or coverage gap.  If you do end up there, under the new health care reform(Affordable Care Act/Obama -Care), you will get a 52.5% discount in the Donut Hole on Part D covered medicines (the government will contribute 50% and your Part D prescription provider will contribute 2.5 %.) This will automatically be deducted from the price of your prescription at the pharmacy, when you pay. So you will be on the hook for  only 47.5% of the price.

The Donut Hole will be completely closed by the year 2020.

  • Your Medicare coverage is protected.Under the ACA, your existing Medicare-covered benefits won’t be reduced or taken away. You also will continue to be able to choose your own doctor.
  • The Affordable Care Act, protects Medicare for years to come.   The Medicare Trust fund  will be extended to at least 2029. This amounts to a 12 year exstension.  The extension will be in place due to a crack down on waste , abuse and fraud.  With the savings derived from this, your premiums and co-insurance should remain at an affordable level.
